Chennai Super Champs
Chennai Super Champs is Chennai’s franchise team in the inaugural World Pickleball League. Pickleball had low mainstream awareness in India, and the objective was to launch the team while helping audiences understand the sport.

Role
Art Director | Building a new franchise

BACKGROUND
I worked directly with the Chennai Super Champs team as an Art Director. While the team name and logo already existed, the digital identity and communication system needed to be built. I led visual direction across launch assets, on-ground branding and social communication, working closely with one junior designer.
The challenge
This was a new team in a new league for an unfamiliar sport. Budgets were controlled, timelines varied and the visual language needed to balance clarity with experimentation while building awareness from scratch.

SOLUTION
What I did
I led design for launch-day outdoor collateral including stage branding, LED banners, podium branding, standees, roll-downs and runner banners. Digitally, I shaped the team’s social presence across pre-launch and live phases. To build understanding, I conceptualised and directed an education-focused carousel series explaining the pickleball, paddle, court layout, scoring and gameplay, guiding the junior designer through the evolving visual language.
Why it mattered
The work helped establish a clear and consistent visual presence for a first-time franchise while making an unfamiliar sport easier to understand for new audiences.
